Mediation Center Organisation Chart

The Mediation Centre established by the Judiciary is managed by Judges and Judicial Officers. A permanent mediator, consisting of a Sessions Court Judge or a Judicial Officer, has been appointed. Judicial Officers serve on a rotational basis to hear mediation cases, depending on the number of mediation cases assigned.

MEDIATION FUNCTIONS:

  • To make mediation an alternative method for resolving cases without going through a full trial process;

  • To save time, cost, and effort for the parties involved;

  • To provide a suitable venue for resolving cases outside the courtroom;

  • To encourage disputes to be resolved amicably (win-win situation) with both parties satisfied with the outcome achieved; and

  • To reduce the backlog of cases in the Court.
